Satyasheelji's immense literary talent is called upon regularly by various Hindi and Marathi newspapers and periodicals. His knowledge of Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, and the many dialects that colour Indian music like Avadhi and Braj-Bhasha is profound. This knowledge, coupled with an inherent love of literature, years of voracious reading and an unparalelled understanding of his subject of music make him one of the foremost writers on music today. Presented here is a collection of some of his literary work.

Ek Nayak ani Ek Gayak
Probably Satyasheelji's most popular literary offering. This marathi article appeared in the Divali Issue, 2005 of the Shabda magazine. In it, Satyasheelji explores the evolution of his relationship with his guru, Pandit Kumar Gandharva and offers a captivating glimpse of Kumarji's music in the context of the prevalent musical ethos of the time.
Sangat Ki Gat Neeki
This is a Hindi translation of the above Marathi article. Satyasheelji took the daunting task of translating a work of such literary and musical subtlety upon himself for the January 2007 issue of the popular Hindi quarterly Kalavarta.
